The AMZ Driver Selection 2026 is a student-only sim racing Hotlap Challenge and represents the first step in the official driver recruitment process of AMZ Racing – ETH Formula Student.

The objective is to identify student drivers with the right mix of raw pace, consistency and driving potential, evaluated in a professional, fair and controlled environment.
All participants compete under identical conditions: same car, same track and same simulation setup.

This ensures that the selection is based purely on driving skill and performance, without external variables.
Sim racing plays a key role in modern motorsport and Formula Student, allowing teams to assess driver behaviour and performance in a transparent and data-driven way.

Following the Hotlap Challenge, the top-performing drivers may be invited to the second step of the AMZ selection process, which can include:

- A go-kart shootout
- Real Formula Student car testing
